Sketches

So, I’ve decided to start doing Amy’s sketches.  I really like her stuff and I think having the challenge each week will be good for me.  I’ve been in a rut lately and have been feeling uninspired.  But working on this sketch was really fun!  I’m very pleased with my creation.  Anyway, here is Amy’s sketch for this week:

And here is my creation:

Like I said, I’m quite pleased.  🙂  I used Certainly Celerly for my card base, Baja Breeze for the two background strips, and a strip of the, now retired, Green Tea DSP.  The flower is from the Embrace Life stamp set and is stamped in Black StazOn ink, then watercolored with Baja Breeze ink.  The flower was cut out and layered on a piece of Old Olive card stock, also cut out.  The whole piece is mounted with dimensionals on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock which has been brushed around the edges with Baja Breeze ink.  Two little buttons from the Button Bouquet dress up the upper right hand corner.  The sentiment at the bottom is from Fundamental Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black ink.

I can’t wait till next week to see what the newest sketch is! 🙂
